Blogging: Breaking Free From Writer’s Block

Blogging is really a lot of fun. You can write and share and let others know what you think, what you know, and basically what is going on in your life or inside your head. But there are times that you have thoughts, but the words just won’t come out. This is known as writer’s block and it can happen to anyone, and honestly, it can be quite frustrating. If you feel like you just do not know what to say, the tips in the following article can help. Continue reading to find out just how you can break free from the hassle of writer’s block.

1. What is your topic?

One reason you may have lost your voice is because maybe you have run out of things to say about your niche. Have you shared everything you can about your topic? If so, maybe you need to consider expanding your niche and making it a little less narrow and a lot more broad. For instance, if you are writing about laptops and you are only writing about Brand X, break out and start writing about other things Brand X makes or even other brands of laptops. Try to broaden your horizons and that should give you a lot more to talk about on your blog posts.

2. What are your readers interested in?

When you get stuck, ask your readers for help. You do not have to tell them you are stuck, but simply ask them what they want to know more about or if they can suggest a topic. You might end up with a list of things that will keep you writing for the next several weeks or longer. Just open up and ask for suggestions, even if you do not use them, it can’t hurt to get some ideas.

3. Are you brainstorming?

It might be a good idea to carry around a notepad or your smart phone just to record any ideas that come up. No matter where you are, if an idea pops up, write it down. Also, do not be worried about what you think about the idea, it may seem silly at the time, but you may be able to turn it into something different when you have more time to think about it. Never be afraid to at least write down a thought, it could be your next best-seller.

4. Do you have someone that can guest post on your blog?

Find another popular blogger in your niche and ask them to do a guest post on your blog. This works out great for both of you. You get a post on your blog by another “expert” in the field and the guest blogger gets more readers to his blog from his exposure on yours.

Unfortunately, writer’s block is something that many people get, but it is something that you can work past. Try out the tips shared in this article and you can say good-by to the annoyance of writer’s block.
